On Saturday July 30th Jog For A Cause 2011 will be taking place along the Hudson River Greenway beginning at Canal Street. We will Run up to 87th street and return back to Canal Street. A sign up and the after jog reception will take place In Canal Park. The event is from 1pm to 6pm and everyone is invited out.

Jog For A Cause is an event in which participates dedicate 1 to 10 miles of physical energy to the planet. It will be a day of unity marking a moment of taking time out of our lives to dedicate something special to mother nature.

“ Jog for a Cause” is a dedicated act expressing environmental appreciation through a physical activity. It’s a jog from Bedford Avenue btwn Norman and Nassau st's Brooklyn NY 11222 to the corner of Bedford Avenue and Emmons avenue Brooklyn NY 11235.

The importance of this activity is to shed light on Brooklyn’s initiative of becoming more environmentally aware and appreciative. With the Eco agenda becoming more mainstream, it is the responsibility of both the people and the City to highlight positive acts that display steps towards environmental leadership.

This act will impact the City of New York as a whole, from the residence of the city to the visitors that get off planes every hour by outlining New York City as a place, which recognizes its individuals, “Little people with a big cause”. It will impact the inner city youth showing other ways of expressing personal beliefs and emotions, it will add strength to businesses with an eco-agenda and give confidence to businesses without one to create opportunities focusing on environmental sustainability. It will create awareness of the Environmental organizations and City departments that work vigorously, year round creating more useful land space and provide resources in Brooklyn and surrounding boroughs. It will impact the political sector showing a collaborative effort of council members, elected officials and community boards sharing a common ground of reliability to the community.

The goal of this event is to give New Yorkers a sense of responsibility for their community underlining that each individual can make a positive impact on society. The goal of this event is to dissolve the mind state that allows individuals to detach themselves from the environment by providing factual information that connects our actions and environmental changes both good and bad. The goal of this event is to work with local, small and corporate businesses showing New York City as an anxious market ready to support Eco-development as consumers and workers. The goal of this event is to have our media outlets project New York City’s commitment of environmental development and appreciation to the world.
